| Reverse description | The reverse is entirely covered with a four-line Persian poetic legend in nasta'liq calligraphy, arranged in horizontal registers divided by ruled lines, a hallmark of Zand Dynasty coinage design. The inscription fills the field from edge to edge with bold, deeply struck characters. The verse, a poetic legend referencing the Imam of the Age, reads in full: 'The sun and moon made gold and silver in the world, from the coinage of the rightful Imam, the Lord of the Age.' A decorative foliate border frames the outer edge of the die. |
