| Beschrijving voorzijde | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, depicted in left profile, wearing a Attic helmet adorned with a serpent crest rising above the bowl. The hair falls in wavy locks beneath the helmet brim, and the facial features are rendered in a sturdy, somewhat archaic Hellenistic style typical of Pontic civic coinage. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical dark bronze patination. No legend or inscription appears in the field. |

The Greek civic abbreviation of Tomis is arranged around the device in two lines: ΤΟ and ΜΙ to the left and right of the caduceus shaft in the upper field, and ΜΕ ΝΙ below, referencing the civic magistrate or ethnic. The lettering is in Greek majuscules typical of Pontic Black Sea colonial issues of the Hellenistic period. The flan edges are notably irregular with small chips. |
