At center, the standing figure of Lorenzo Ruiz is depicted in prayer, surrounded by a narrative composition evoking his martyrdom: a gallows and condemned figures appear to the left, a coastal seascape with sailing vessels to the right, and subsidiary figures of the faithful in the foreground. Above, a celestial vision of the Virgin Mary and saints emerges amid radiating sunbeams in the upper field. The secondary inscription LORENZO RUIZ MARTIR NA PILIPINO appears in two lines to the left of the central figure, while the circular legend REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS runs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, and the denomination 1500 PISO is boldly rendered along the lower arc. |
