| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a four-line Arabic legend in bold naskh script, arranged horizontally across the flan and divided by a prominent horizontal line separating the upper two lines from the lower two. The inscription reads: 'Al-Sultan al-A'zam / Ghiyath al-Dunya wa al-Din / Abu al-Fath Muhammad Shah / al-Sultan', proclaiming the full royal titulature of Sultan Muhammad Shah II of Gujarat. The lettering is deeply struck in high relief against a plain field, characteristic of the hammered copper coinage of the Gujarati sultanate. The coin exhibits the typical irregular flan and rough surface associated with medieval Indian copper issues of this period. |

Ahmad Shah II ruled Gujarat from 1442 to his death in 1451, and the fractional copper issues of his reign reflect a local economy where small-denomination exchange was dense enough to require purpose-struck fractions rather than simply cutting whole pieces. The Sultanate's copper coinage of this period is notoriously difficult to attribute cleanly — die alignment and flan preparation were inconsistent across mints, and the same type frequently appears in dramatically different weights despite nominal standards.
GG#G50 places this squarely in the Ahmad Shah II sequence. Survivors in collectible condition are scarce; Gujarat copper circulated hard.
