| Reverse description | The reverse field bears a two-line Arabic legend in naskh script, similarly arranged in horizontal registers across the flan and separated by a bold incuse horizontal line. The inscription reads: 'bin Ahmad Shah / al-Sultan', identifying the ruler as the son of Ahmad Shah and affirming his sultanate title. The lettering is rendered in high relief, deeply hammered into the thick copper flan, with characteristic surface corrosion and verdigris patination consistent with long burial or environmental exposure. The irregular planchet and rough edge are typical of Gujarati sultanate copper coinage of the mid-fifteenth century. |
