| Beschrijving voorzijde | The arms of Uganda occupy the central field, featuring a shield supported by a Uganda kob (antelope) to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, with a sun motif and traditional drum on the shield, and a ribbon scroll below bearing the national motto. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 19 96 divided across the middle field on either side of the supporters. The denomination 1000 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower periphery, and the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY appears on the scroll at the base of the arms.
