| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse carries a portrait vignette of Volodymyr Vernadskyi (1863–1945), the eminent Ukrainian scientist, philosopher, and founder of the disciplines of geochemistry, biogeochemistry, and radiogeology, as well as the first president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (est. 1918). The commemorative inscription «30 РОКІВ НЕЗАЛЕЖНОСТІ УКРАЇНИ» and his attributed quotation «Я вірю у величне майбутнє України» appear alongside the denomination «₴1000» against a guilloche underprint. The issuer's name «НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ» is rendered across the upper field. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse presents an architectural vignette of the Presidium building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a mid-19th-century structure designed by architect Alexander Beretti and later extended with a third floor in 1892; its facade is distinguished by rustication and an attic element with a cast-iron grid. The denomination «1000 ГРИВЕНЬ» and the full spelled-out value «Одна тисяча гривень» are inscribed alongside the building's name «Президія Національної академії наук України». The year «2019» and the denomination symbol «₴1000» appear within the design field. |
