The Bank of Central African States issues coinage on behalf of six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — a currency union that survived the 1994 CFA franc devaluation largely intact despite the 50% adjustment causing sharp economic disruption across the region.
