| Description du revers | The central field features a finely detailed depiction of a late medieval cog under full sail, rendered with intricate rigging, billowing sails adorned with heraldic devices, and a stylized sea below the hull. In the lower portion of the field, a small bust of Klaus Störtebeker is shown in an arched frame, portraying the legendary privateer wearing a head covering and a beard. The legend KLAUS STÖRTEBEKER arcs along the upper periphery in Gothic-style Latin lettering. The year of Störtebeker's execution 1402 appears to the lower left, and the commemorative year 2002 appears to the lower right and additionally in small numerals to the right of the ship, marking the 600th anniversary of his death. |
