Descrizione del dritto The national coat of arms of Guyana occupies the central field, depicting a crowned shield bearing a canje pheasant, three wavy lines representing the rivers, a water lily, and a sugar cane stalk, supported on either side by two jaguars rampant. The crest above the shield features a Amerindian headdress atop a helmet with decorative mantling. Three scrolled ribbons below the shield bear the national motto in the legend: ONE PEOPLE ONE NATION ONE DESTINY. The country name GUYANA arcs along the upper periphery, and the denomination $1000 appears in the lower field.

Informazioni aggiuntive

The Bank of Guyana was established in 1965, a year before independence was formally consolidated under the new republic, making the 40th anniversary a marker of the institution's full lifespan under sovereign governance. Commemorative proof issues of this type were produced in small quantities for the regional collector market and rarely saw meaningful secondary-market circulation.
