Obverse description Hungarian-language face of the Austro-Hungarian Bank 1902-dated 1000 Korona note, overprinted with a Romanian "TIMBRU SPECIAL" stamp for use in Transylvania and the Banat. The right half carries an oval portrait vignette of a young woman in Art Nouveau style with floral hair ornament, set against dense guilloche underprint in blue-violet tones. The denomination "EZER KORONA" is printed in large letterpress text at centre, with the Hungarian text of the bank's payment obligation and three facsimile signatures of bank officials below.
