Beschrijving keerzijde The silver centre field presents a faithful numismatic reproduction of the historic 8 reales provisional cob coin struck at Zacatecas in 1811, showing the characteristic crude triangular mountain motif with a cross at its apex, surrounded by the circular legend of the original piece including the mint name ZACATECAS and the inscription MONEDA PROVISIO[NAL], all rendered in fine detail. The aluminium bronze outer ring carries the curved legend HERENCIA NUMISMATICA DE MEXICO along the upper periphery, flanked by two bullet points, with the mint mark Mo and the date 2012 positioned at the left and right sides respectively, and the denomination $100 displayed in the lower exergue of the ring.

Aanvullende informatie

The "Provisional Realist" designation places this coin within Mexico's long-running numismatic program commemorating the 1810–1821 War of Independence, specifically honoring figures and events associated with the royalist — or realist — faction that opposed insurgency. It is an unusual official acknowledgment: few nations mint coins celebrating the side that lost their own independence struggle. The series as a whole was issued to mark the independence bicentennial, and the bimetallic format was chosen to distinguish commemoratives from circulation coinage.
