| 表面の説明 | Three giant eland (Taurotragus derbianus) depicted in right-facing profile, their elongated spiral horns overlapping dynamically across the central field, rendered with fine engraved detail against a plain background suggestive of savanna grasses at the base. The engraver's signature G.B.L. BAZOR appears at the right inner field. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE POPULAIRE DU CONGO runs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, with a small mint mark at the bottom of the field. |

The Bank of Central African States — the BEAC — replaced the earlier Banque Centrale des États de l'Afrique Équatoriale et du Cameroun following a 1972 restructuring that redrew the monetary governance of six nations: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon. Equatorial Guinea's inclusion was notable; the country had only joined the CFA franc zone in 1985, making it the sole member whose official language is Spanish.
KM#2 spans fifteen years of production across that political reorganization, with coins struck at the Paris Mint carrying the cornucopia privy mark.
