To the left stands a draped figure of Libertas, the Roman goddess of Liberty, wearing a diadem and holding a shield, facing right; to the right, a kneeling child supports a cartouche bearing the denomination. Value cartouches appear above and below the central frame, with engraved signatures of the Kassier and Direktor across the lower portion of the design. |

Three horizontally connected decorative frames form the principal design, with the denomination rendered in three languages — French, German, and Italian — within the central frame. Each of the two flanking circular frames contains a facing inward head of Hermes in profile vignette, executed in fine intaglio engraving. Corner cartouches repeat the numeral value at each of the four angles. |
