| Opis awersu | The Armenian National Coat of Arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield supported by an eagle to the left and a lion to the right, with a sword and an eagle's feather as additional supporters, and a ribbon of laurel at the base. Issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the United Nations, this coin was struck just three years after Armenia joined the organization in 1992 — itself a consequence of the Soviet dissolution the previous year. Armenia's admission came at a moment when the country was simultaneously fighting a war in Nagorno-Karabakh and managing a near-total economic blockade from Turkey and Azerbaijan.
