| Beschrijving voorzijde | The coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia occupies the central field, depicting an eagle and a lion flanking a quartered shield bearing Mount Ararat, an eagle, a lion, and a double-headed eagle, surmounted by a star and a striped ribbon at the base. The date 2006 appears above the arms. The denomination '100' is inscribed at the bottom of the inner field, flanked by the word 'DRAM' to the left and its Armenian equivalent 'ԴՐԱՄ' to the right. The outer border carries the Armenian legend 'ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ' along the upper arc and 'REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA' along the lower arc, all rendered in relief against a polished proof field. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse commemorates the International Polar Year 2007–2008 and features a left-facing portrait bust of Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen in the left portion of the field, rendered in high relief with fine detail on his features and fur-trimmed coat. To the right, a polar map grid forms the background, with a sailing vessel amid pack ice depicted in the lower right quadrant and a group of expedition figures visible near the base. At the center right, the colorized official International Polar Year logo — a stylized blue human figure circumscribed by a globe — is applied in enamel.
