The characters are rendered in a bold, regular script (kaishu) with pronounced strokes, cast in high relief against a flat field. The coin exhibits a broad, plain rim framing the design on both the outer edge and the inner edges of the central square perforation. The overall aesthetic is characteristic of mid-nineteenth century Qing dynasty Board of Revenue coinage. |
