The heading "Notgeld." appears at the top with the serial number prefix and number to its right, beneath which a validity inscription in italic script names the Amtshauptmannschaft and Stadt Zittau. The lower portion carries a multi-line redemption text in italic letterpress, the issue date "Zittau, den 28. September 1923," two manuscript signatures under the designations "Der Bezirksverband der Amtshauptmannschaft" and "Der Stadtrat," and a list of authorised redemption banks.
