| Obverse description | A central vignette presents a panoramic view of the Summer Palace on Kunming Lake, Beijing, rendered in fine intaglio engraving with the iconic Tower of Buddhist Incense visible on the hillside. Flanking the central vignette on either side are large vertical guilloche panels bearing the denomination characters 拾圓 in Chinese script, with the branch designation 上海 (Shanghai) inscribed at the lower outer corners. The upper portion carries the bank title 中國銀行 (Bank of China) flanked by the serial number D918066 printed in red, with two manuscript signatures of the Governor and Manager appearing at the lower centre. |
