| Obverse description | Oval intaglio vignette at left centre bearing a portrait of Wakeno Kiyomaro in traditional court attire, with an elaborate guilloche scroll underprint at centre surrounding the large kanji denomination 拾圓. A vignette of the Goo Shrine appears at lower right, flanked by ornamental borders. The Bank of Japan title inscription 日本銀行 appears in vertical kanji at upper centre, with serial numbers printed in two positions and check letters within brackets. |
