| 裏面の説明 | A narrative scene from Chingiz Aitmatov's novella 'Jamila' is depicted rising from the pages of an open book rendered in the lower field. Two figures — a young man in military dress facing left and a young woman facing right — stand back to back beneath a spreading deciduous tree whose branches fill the upper field. A horse grazes to the right and a horse-drawn cart appears to the left, evoking the wartime Kyrgyz steppe setting of the story. The bilingual title legend ЖАМИЙЛА and ДЖАМИЛЯ arcs along the upper border, while the denomination 10 СОМ is inscribed in the lower field; the silver fineness and weight notation Ag 925/28,28 appear on the book's spine. |

Jamila is the title of Chingiz Aitmatov's 1958 novella, widely considered the finest short work in Kyrgyz literature — the French poet Louis Aragon famously called it "the world's most beautiful love story" after translating it himself. This coin was issued the year of Aitmatov's death, part of a broader commemorative program the National Bank launched to honor his life and output following his passing in June 2008.
