Obverse description The central vignette to the right shows two pigeons in flight, rendered in fine intaglio line work within a circular guilloche frame. Large kanji characters reading '拾銭' (ten sen) occupy the centre of the note, with the Bank of Japan title inscription above in vertical kanji script and a red circular seal to the lower left. A floral sprig ornament appears on the left border, with the numerals '10' repeated at all four corners and the printer's inscription along the lower margin.

Reverse description The left two-thirds of the reverse are occupied by a detailed line-engraved vignette of the National Diet Building (Kokkai-gijido) in Tokyo, its distinctive stepped central tower rising above the colonnaded wings. The denomination numeral '10' appears in large figures to the right, accompanied by a scrollwork ornament. Border bands at top and bottom carry the romanised legends 'NIPPON GINKO' and '10 SEN' respectively, printed in rose-red throughout.
