| 表面の説明 | Central field features the quartered coat of arms of the Order of St. John, combining the white eight-pointed cross of the Hospitallers with the crescent devices associated with Grand Master Manuel Pinto de Fonseca, the whole surmounted by a mural or princely crown with a small star above. The shield is flanked by a laurel branch to the left and a palm branch to the right, tied at the base. The circular Latin legend surrounding the design reads F.EMMANVEL PINTO M.M.H.S.S. with the date 1761, distributed around the periphery. The coin exhibits a boldly struck, high-relief design characteristic of Maltese milled gold coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. The toothed border frames the entire composition. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse presents a full-length standing figure of Saint John the Baptist, depicted in the Baroque manner as a lean, seminude male figure draped lightly at the waist, holding a tall processional cross-staff with a banner in his left hand and gesturing outward with his right. A lamb, the traditional attribute of the Baptist, is shown at his feet to the right. The circular Latin legend NON.SVRREXIT.MAIOR encircles the figure, a scriptural reference to Christ's words concerning John (Matthew 11:11). The denomination S.X (Scudi 10) appears in the exergue below the figure. The toothed border and fine milled edge are consistent with the high standard of the Malta Mint's gold coinage under Pinto de Fonseca. |
