| Opis awersu |
Central circular field depicts two Asian elephants at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, located in Kegalle District: a large elephant recumbent in the foreground, partially submerged in stylized water rendered with horizontal wave lines, while a second elephant stands behind in the upper field. The composition evokes the famous bathing scenes at Pinnawala. Surrounding the central motif, the district name appears in three scripts along the upper arc — Tamil (கேகாலை) at left, Sinhala (කෑගල්ල) at centre, and Latin (Kegalle) at right. The date 2013 is inscribed in the lower exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a raised circular border fitted to the hendecagonal flan. |
