| Opmerkingen |
The P#102 series ran through a particularly turbulent stretch of the civil war, when the LTTE controlled significant territory in the north and east and counterfeit currency was a documented tool of economic disruption. De La Rue's production in London kept the plates and paper supply well outside the island, a deliberate security calculation that Sri Lanka maintained through several successive note designs during this period.
The single watermark as the primary security feature looks thin by modern standards, but was consistent with the denomination's low face value — higher-denomination notes in the same period carried more elaborate protection.
