| Beschrijving voorzijde | The face is printed in dark tones with the large bold Cyrillic denomination ДЕСЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ occupying the central horizontal band, beneath which a vignette of crossed anchor and axe — emblematic of the railway and maritime administration — is positioned at lower centre, flanked by foliate decorative branches. Circular guilloche panels in the upper left and upper right corners carry the numeral '10', while the heading inscription across the top identifies the issuing body and the guarantee of the construction capital credit. The serial number and date 1918г. appear at the foot of the note. |

Railway companies across the former Russian Empire issued their own scrip during 1917–1918 as the central banking system collapsed and coin disappeared from circulation entirely. The Chernomorskaya Zheleznaya Doroga — the Black Sea Railway, running the coastal line through what is now Abkhazia — was one of dozens of regional employers forced to pay wages and make change with self-printed paper. These notes had no official backing and circulated on trust alone.
The series is poorly documented, and surviving examples are genuinely scarce. Most railway scrip of this period was redeemed, repudiated, or simply lost when Soviet monetary consolidation rendered it worthless within a few years of issue.
