The design reflects the corporate identity of the Munich-based aero-engine manufacturer, the horse being a direct reference to the firm's name (Rapp meaning horse in Bavarian dialect). The flat, unadorned field and the octagonal flan are typical of Kleingeldersatzmarken (small-change substitute tokens) produced during the First World War period. |
