背面描述 The reverse is printed in dark brown ink on cream-coloured paper within a plain rectangular frame, with the numeral '10' repeated in each of the four corners. A central vignette presents the Massow municipal coat of arms flanked by two rustic figures in a pastoral landscape with trees. Above the vignette, in flowing script, runs a two-line quotation from Schiller's Wilhelm Tell: 'Wir wollen sein ein einig Volk von Brüdern / In keiner Not uns trennen und Gefahr', decorated with asterisks. Below the vignette, a validity clause in letterpress states the note is redeemable within three months of a date to be announced in the Massower Anzeiger and the Naugarder Kreiszeitung.

备注

Massow — today Maszewo in northwestern Poland — was a small Pomeranian market town, and its 1920 emergency currency belongs to the vast Notgeld wave that flooded Germany as chronic small-coin shortages persisted well into the postwar years. Municipal authorities across the country filled the gap themselves, with results ranging from the artistically ambitious to the purely functional. Massow's issues fall squarely in the latter category.

The Grabowski and Bremer references both catalog this specific note as a distinct subtype, suggesting at least minor variant differences within the Massow 10 Pfennig series worth tracking for completeness.
