| 表面の説明 | The obverse is divided into three main vignette zones framed by a repeated guilloche border inscribed DIEZ along all four margins. At centre, a spirited horse galloping to the right is set within an oval vignette beneath the issuer legend LA PROVINCIA DE BUENOS AYRES. To the lower left, a male portrait bust in intaglio engraving faces three-quarters right, while to the lower right an allegorical female figure is rendered within an oval frame. The denomination DIEZ PESOS appears in bold letterpress across the lower centre, accompanied by the text Reconoce este Billete por DIEZ PESOS and the authorization line POR EL DIRECTORIO DEL BANCO. |

The Provincia de Buenos Ayres operated its own note-issuing apparatus independently of the Argentine Confederation for much of the nineteenth century — Buenos Aires didn't fully integrate into the national banking framework until well after the 1862 political unification, and provincial paper continued circulating under provincial authority for years beyond that. This note falls squarely in that transitional period, when Buenos Aires still jealously maintained its own fiscal machinery.
ABNC's involvement was typical for major Latin American issuers of the period seeking engraved security printing beyond what local facilities could provide. The PS prefix in the Pick catalogue indicates this is a state-chartered or provincial issue rather than a national bank series.
