| Obverse description | At center, within a beaded inner circle, the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mehmed V is displayed, with the epithet 'Reshat' inscribed to its right. Below the tughra, the regnal year (year of reign) appears in Arabic numerals. Encircling the beaded border, the revolutionary motto reading 'Freedom, Equality, Justice' in Arabic script is arranged around the periphery, flanked by a conjoined olive branch and wheat sheaf — emblems of the Committee of Union and Progress adopted after the Young Turk Revolution of 1908. |
