The large bold numeral '10' occupies the centre, flanked by 'Gutschein' and 'Randegg', with 'der Gemeinde' above and 'Zehn Heller' below in display Fraktur script. Three facsimile signatures appear in the lower portion, identifying the Bürgermeister, Gemeinderat, and Vizebürgermeister of the issuing municipality. |

Randegg is a small municipality in Lower Austria, and this 10 Heller note is a product of the Notgeld wave that swept Austrian communes between 1919 and 1921 — a period when the central government's coin supply had effectively collapsed under postwar economic strain. Municipal administrations were left to paper over the shortage themselves, literally. The three signatories here — Bürgermeister, Vizebürgermeister, and a Gemeinderat — represent the full weight of local civic authority pressed into service as a de facto issuing bank.
Jaksch/Pick JPR0817-10 is among the more obscure commune issues in the Lower Austrian series.
