One of thousands of Austrian Notgeld issues produced in the early 1920s, this Peuerbach piece belongs to the emergency small-change wave that swept municipal and market administrations across Austria following the postwar coin shortage. Three local officials signed individually — the deputy administrator, the administrator, and the cashier — a formality that was simultaneously a safeguard against forgery and a statement of local accountability at a moment when central authority had effectively collapsed at street level.

Hans Doblmaier signing both as designer and as Verwalter-Stellvertreter is the notable detail here. The man who drew the note also co-authorized it.
