Popis líce	The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Republic of Latvia prominently at centre, featuring a quartered shield with a rising sun in the upper half and three lions passant in the lower quarters, supported by a rampant lion to the dexter and a griffin to the sinister, with a decorative oak-leaf and ribbon mantling at the base. Three five-pointed stars arc above the shield, symbolising the historic regions of Vidzeme, Latgale, and Kurzeme-Zemgale. Thirteen five-pointed stars encircle the design along the inner rim, referencing the European Union. The mint year appears in the lower field below the shield, with the country name LATVIJA inscribed along the lower rim in Latin characters. The design was engraved by Jānis Strupulis.
