| Obverse description | Central device depicts Sir Francis Drake's galleon Golden Hind under full sail, rendered in fine relief upon a mirror-polished field. The denomination numerals '10' flank the vessel to left and right at mid-field, with the written legend 'TEN DOLLARS' arching above the ship.
