| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast brass cash coin with a central square hole, surrounded by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in the traditional cruciform reading order: 寶 (top), 通 (right), 大 (bottom), and 保 (left), forming the reign title legend 保大通寶 (Bảo Đại Thông Bảo). The characters are boldly raised in the field, separated by the square perforation at center. The coin is bounded by a plain inner rim surrounding the central hole and a raised outer rim encircling the entire design. The surface shows characteristic casting texture with verdigris patination. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Cast brass cash coin with a central square hole flanked by two Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu): 十 (ten) to the right and 文 (cash/wen) to the left, reading 十文 (Thập Văn, meaning 10 Cash). The characters are boldly raised against a plain field, with a raised outer rim encircling the coin. The reverse is notably more simply composed than the obverse, with ample open field above and below the central perforation. Surface exhibits green patination consistent with aged brass. |
