| Reverse description | Cast brass cash coin with a central square hole flanked by two Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu): 十 (ten) to the right and 文 (cash/wen) to the left, reading 十文 (Thập Văn, meaning 10 Cash). The characters are boldly raised against a plain field, with a raised outer rim encircling the coin. The reverse is notably more simply composed than the obverse, with ample open field above and below the central perforation. Surface exhibits green patination consistent with aged brass. |
