| 裏面の説明 | The reverse presents a full-length standing figure of Santiago (Saint James the Apostle) rendered in the style of the famous polychrome statue enthroned above the high altar of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The saint is depicted in pilgrim's attire — broad-brimmed hat, staff raised in his right hand and a book or shell motif on his vestment — set prominently beneath a Romanesque arched portal. The crowned Madrid mint mark appears to the right of the central device. Two circular cross-and-sunburst medallions flank the composition at left and right, and a scallop shell, emblem of the pilgrimage route, is centered at the base. The circumferential legend AÑO JUBILAR COMPOSTELANO arcs around the upper field, while the denomination 10000 PTAS is divided across the lower field, all enclosed within a beaded border. |
