Opmerkingen

The Bank of the Chinese Soviet Republic operated through a network of provincial branches, each issuing notes with local authority but theoretically unified under the Jiangxi Soviet's central financial structure. The Hunan-Kwangsi branch was one of the more peripheral operations, functioning in contested territory where Nationalist blockades severely restricted the flow of goods and silver — conditions that made even small-denomination notes politically loaded instruments of parallel governance.

"Canton" here refers to the Cantonese romanization convention used in the note's labeling, not to the city of Guangzhou. A persistent source of cataloging confusion.
