| 正面铭文 | 大朝鮮 開國四百九十五年○일원○ 416•1 WARN • 900 (Translation: Great Joseon founded 495 years ago, 1 Won) |
| 背面描述 | Central denomination characters 一圜 (1 Warn) displayed in large Chinese script within a beaded inner circle. Above the central circle, a stylized circular emblem resembling a target or compass device occupies the upper field. Flanking the central circle on both sides, elegant sprays of flowering branches — likely plum blossoms and foliage — form a wreath that is tied at the base with a decorative ribbon bow. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded outer border. |

This is a pattern piece — KM#Pn17 — not a circulated issue. Korea's 1886 coinage experiments came under intense pressure from competing foreign interests: Japan was pushing its own monetary model following the 1876 Ganghwa Treaty, while the Joseon court was simultaneously negotiating with American and German advisors over modernizing the currency system. Whether this specific pattern was struck domestically or abroad remains unresolved in the literature.
White metal patterns of this period were typically produced for approval samples, not circulation testing.
