Descrizione del rovescio	The reverse presents a dolphin depicted in profile, rendered in the bold, schematic style characteristic of south Italian bronze coinage of the late third century BC. The dolphin motif, a common symbol in the coinage of the region, is positioned centrally on the flan with the creature arching across the field. Below or adjacent to the dolphin, the abbreviated ethnic legend MEL appears in Latin characters, identifying the issuing community of Meles. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show the typical granular texture of hammered cast bronze, with significant wear and encrustation consistent with ancient circulation.
