The cross divides the inner field into four quadrants with a slightly raised and worn surface characteristic of hammered billon coinage. Surrounding the inner circle, the Latin legend reads TOM MOCENIGO DVX, identifying the Doge Tomaso Mocenigo as issuing authority, introduced and closed by cross stops. The overall flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-struck medieval Venetian practice. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central device depicts a standing figure of the standard-bearer (Vexillifer) of Venice, rendered in a schematic, stylized manner typical of small-denomination hammered medieval coinage, holding the banner of Saint Mark aloft. The figure is shown within a plain inner circle, with the design heavily worn due to the low relief inherent to this denomination. The surrounding Latin legend reads VEXILIFER VENETIARUM, proclaiming the standard-bearer of the Venetians, introduced by a cross stop. The irregular flan and flat strike are consistent with the known characteristics of Venetian torneselli struck for circulation in the Levant and Crete. |
