A circular legend surrounding the central shield reads CAPITUL: METROP: MOGUNT, with the date 1743 inscribed below the shield within the legend circle. At the lower portion of the field, a separate cartouche contains the two-line inscription SEDE VACANTE, denoting the vacancy of the archiepiscopal see. The broad outer border mirrors the obverse, filled with twelve armorial shields of the cathedral chapter canons set within ornate scrollwork cartouches arranged around the entire circumference. |
