He holds a salt box in his right hand and a crozier in his left, attributes referencing both his episcopal office and the salt trade central to Salzburg's wealth. The archiepiscopal mitre divides the legend at the top of the coin. The countermark '16S81', applied by the mint of Salzburg, appears prominently in the reverse field, with the legend commencing at approximately 1 o'clock. |
