| Descrizione del rovescio | Saint Rupert (Sanctus Rudbertus), patron saint of Salzburg, depicted in three-quarter view facing left, seated upon an ornate episcopal throne and attired in full pontifical vestments including cope and pallium. He holds a salt box in his right hand and a crozier in his left, attributes referencing both his episcopal office and the salt trade central to Salzburg's wealth. The archiepiscopal mitre divides the legend at the top of the coin. The countermark '16S81', applied by the mint of Salzburg, appears prominently in the reverse field, with the legend commencing at approximately 1 o'clock. |
