| Descrizione del dritto | Half-length armored effigy of Duke Frederick VIII facing right, depicted in elaborate period military dress with richly detailed gorget, pauldrons, and cuirass rendered in fine relief. The date 1625 appears divided on either side of the figure within the inner beaded border. To the right of the bust, a crowned Saxon coat of arms is visible. The circumferential Latin legend, interrupted by decorative stops, runs along the outer border naming the four co-ruling dukes of Saxe-Altenburg by their initials and titles. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse field is entirely occupied by a multi-line funerary Latin inscription recording the biographical details of Duke Frederick VIII, stating his birth on 12 February 1597 and his death on 17 August 1625 at the age of 29 years, 6 months, and 5 days. The text is arranged in horizontal lines across the open field, enclosed within a beaded inner border. A circumferential Latin legend in capital letters runs along the outer border, continuing the commemorative funerary text. Small decorative floral or rosette stops punctuate the legend at intervals. |
