| Description du revers | Saint George on horseback, armored and wearing a crown, lunging to the right as he thrusts a lance downward to slay the dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves. The composition is dynamic and highly detailed, with the rearing horse rendered in vigorous relief. A papal shield bearing the Borghese arms appears at the base of the design. A beaded inner border surrounds the central scene. The circumferential legend S·GEORGIVS·FER PARIÆ·PROTEC· identifies the patron saint and the city of Ferrara. |
