| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays the heraldic achievement of Pope Innocent XI (Benedict Odescalchi) centered in the field: a pointed shield bearing the Odescalchi arms, divided per fess with an eagle displayed in chief and a crowned lion passant in base, supported on either side by foliate branches. Above the shield, the crossed keys of Saint Peter surmounted by the papal tiara are rendered in fine relief. The composition is flanked by elaborate decorative elements, and the peripheral legend reads INNOCENTIVS XI PONT MAX, separated by pellet stops, encircling the design within a toothed or reeded border. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a bold, centrally placed devotional inscription in five lines within an ornate Baroque cartouche formed by scrolling acanthus-leaf volutes and interlaced ribbon motifs at the sides, with further foliate flourishes at top and bottom. The Latin motto MELIVS EST DARE QVAM ACCIPERE, meaning 'It is better to give than to receive' (Acts 20:35), is rendered in large, well-spaced capital letters. The date 1684 appears at the foot of the inscription within the cartouche. The entire composition is enclosed by a milled or reeded outer border. |
