Obverse description Square hammered gold flan with clipped corners, the field divided into two horizontal registers by a double line. The upper register bears bold Arabic calligraphy in the Naskh style reading the ruler's name and titles. The lower register contains additional Arabic legends identifying the sultan, with a regnal year rendered in abjad numerals visible at the base. The entire composition is contained within a plain linear border following the square format of the flan.
