| Reverse description | Reverse field filled with a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script, referencing the reigning Caliph and affirming the orthodox Sunni legitimacy of the issuer. The inscription invokes the Imam and Commander of the Faithful, Abu Abd Allah, with a prayer for the perpetuation of his caliphate. Lettering is struck in shallow relief on a worn, irregular flan consistent with hammered billon production of the Tughluq period. No subsidiary symbols, mint marks, or decorative borders are discernible. The overall presentation is entirely epigraphic, following established Sultanate numismatic convention. |

Fath Khan never ruled. He died before his father, Firoz Shah Tughluq, making this tanka an oddity — coins struck in the name of a prince who predeceased the sultan and never ascended the throne. Firoz, who reigned from 1351 to 1388, was unusual among Delhi sultans in authorizing coinage for his heir apparent, a practice with no strong precedent in the Tughluq dynasty.
The billon composition reflects Firoz's reign-long debasement of the silver coinage, a deliberate policy tied to the fiscal pressures of his extensive canal-building programs and welfare expenditures.
