| 裏面の説明 | The reverse displays an elaborate and distinctive design of nine interlocking rings arranged in a circular pattern, each ring containing a five-pointed star within its loop. At the center of the composition, an all-seeing eye radiates downward, surrounded by additional stars scattered across the field between the rings. The border is formed by a continuous chain-link or beaded pattern encircling the entire design. This interlocking rings motif is a hallmark of the Chalmers shilling and is widely regarded as a symbol of unity among the states. The design is struck in a bold, deeply engraved style characteristic of late eighteenth-century American private silver coinage. |
